Hiking in Pfelders

Tips for special experiences in the mountain world of Passeier Valley

Pfelders is located in the heart of the Texel Group Nature Park and is an ideal starting point for hikes in all directions. Trails begin right in the village, leading through quiet valleys, across alpine meadows, and up into the high alpine mountain world.

Around Pfelders, countless opportunities await to discover the nature of the South Tyrolean Alps. Here are some of our personal recommendations – from leisurely alpine hikes to impressive summit experiences.

Hikes

1. Lazinser Alm

One of the most beautiful and popular hikes around Pfelders leads to Lazinser Alm. The trail runs comfortably through the idyllic Lazins Valley and is well suited for families. Once you reach the top, a traditional alpine hut with magnificent views awaits you.

2. Faltschnalalm

Faltschnalalm is quietly nestled in the rear Passeier Valley and is a wonderful destination for a relaxed hike. The wide alpine meadows and impressive mountain scenery are particularly beautiful.

3. Spronser Lakes

The Spronser Lakes are among the largest high alpine lake plateaus in Europe and are a true natural highlight in the Texel Group Nature Park. The hike there is challenging but rewards you with spectacular views.

4. Eisjöchl

The Eisjöchl is one of the most famous crossings on the Merano High Mountain Trail and offers an impressive panorama over the high Alps. An unforgettable experience for experienced mountain hikers.

5. Hinterer Seelenkogel

At over 3,400 meters, the Hinterer Seelenkogel is one of the distinctive peaks of the region. Ambitious mountaineers will find a unique view over the Ötztal Alps here.

6. Stettiner Hut

The Stettiner Hut is a popular destination for mountain hikers and is located directly on the Merano High Mountain Trail. The surroundings offer spectacular views of the high alpine landscape of the Texel Group.

Family Hikes

7. Pfelders Panorama Trail

A particularly beautiful hike takes the cable car up to Grünboden. From there, the panorama trail leads to Faltschnalalm and offers magnificent views of the surrounding peaks of the main Alpine ridge. The return route leads through alpine meadows and Swiss stone pine forest via the Lazins Valley back to Pfelders.

8. Grünboden Alm

Accessible by cable car and ideal for a relaxed family outing. From here, beautiful walking paths and fantastic views of the surrounding peaks are available.

9. Lazins

The Lazinserhof is a beautiful destination for an easy hike along the Lazins Valley – particularly idyllic in early summer when the alpine meadows are in bloom. The tour works well as a circular hike. Those with more stamina can extend the route to Lazinser Alm.
